Hello Again to All My Friends Together We Can Play Some Rock and Rollã¯â»â¿

Hullo and happy 2022 to anyone who still visits blogs (lololol). I tin't help it . In this Instagram/Tik Tok earth I tin can't stop loving longer form photo sharing and I honestly don't foresee that changing anytime soon.

Here is my compilation of all my JZP piece of work from the past year. I do these posts for myself to be able to look back on all the stories and lives I am so incredibly honored to be invited to witness and certificate. I am thankful for each and every person in these photos. Information technology just causes me to praise God for the souvenir of this piece of work that I never could accept dreamed of pursing on my ain.

I besides exercise these posts for future potential clients to see highlighted what I value in my storytelling — preserving your nigh honey, honest and blissful moments. I promise y'all can see that in this postal service.

Now for the photos. I started the year off in San Diego with the Sewell family at their favorite tide pool. I love them I love them I dearest them and promise to blog this entire session ane day soon because every single chip of it makes me grinning grin smile.

I had the laurels of meeting + photographing my cousin's newborn photos in Jan. Spoiler warning: if y'all make it to the end of this mail service you'll see what he looks like as a big one-year-old too.

Beth + Zack's hymeneals was my offset of the twelvemonth. As I looked back at their gallery with a yr'south distance from it ane of the things that stood out to me most were how all the masks in the photos marked the time in which their wedding took identify.

I'm going to practice all DFW people a favor and tell you to order you some Heimat pretzels later you lot finish looking through this postal service. You will not regret it. For the record the rosemary-garlic and cinnamon sugar ones are my favorites!

Beneath is the first of ii Poe family sessions in 2021. Not long after this session Abi texted me that apparently those would be their last photos as a family of three (go on going in the post to see the second trivial Poe boy soon afterward his inflow right before the stop of the year).

Joni + Jeremy's intimate Broken Bow, OK cabin wedding was full of intentionality and personal touches and sweetness.

There were then many favorite things about Hillary + Regan's lovely Fort Worth wedding with KC Deject Events — the light streaming through the stained drinking glass windows of the church building during their ceremony, their stunning florals, and both of Hillary + Regan's fathers beingness a office of their wedding ceremony. But I gotta tell you, every time I remember about their wedding I can't assistance just think most the PUPPIESSSSS at cocktail hour.

Every time I remember of Alyssa + Blake's hymeneals I beginning singing Julie Andrew's "Raindrops on Roses." The pelting fell off an on all morning, even up to the ceremony itself, only that didn't dampen even a scrap of the joy of the mean solar day.

I likewise desire to give a special shout out to my second-shooter and JZP associate shooter, Jacob. He shot all but 3 of my 2021 weddings with me LIKE A Champ and several of the photos I selected from the following wedding ceremony are ones he took. He does such amazing work and I'm proud to have him work with me and stand for JZP.

HOW COOL IS It being invited into the Vanderpool dwelling for my third newborn session for this dear family? I'll tell you: PRETTY DANG COOL.

Then I had the joy joy joy to document a slew of past JZP brides and grooms growing their families this twelvemonth – so sweet to exist a function of documenting a family unit from their first twenty-four hours married and some of their first days equally parents.

In May I flew out to Taos, NM for Bethany + Josh's nuptials in the mountains but the forecast disagreed with their outdoor ceremony plans. The pelting and hail may have pushed us indoors at the concluding infinitesimal for a ceremony in their airbnb but Bethany, Josh and all their people rallied and made information technology happen. That airbnb was filled top to bottom with and so much delight that information technology was palpable.

Sophy + Jason'south was my last wedding that I photographed pregnant with my third child. It'southward funny how I mark even my own life past y'all'south special events I go invited in to be a part of.

While that was my terminal wedding before maternity leave there were still plenty of shoots (and a mountain of editing) to come before it officially started.

I LOVED coming together support with the Tipton'southward while they were on sabbatical from serving overseas as missionaries. I photographed their wedding dorsum in the earliest days of JZP and getting to reunite with them in Tyler, Texas and encounter their three children was a joy in and of itself. Another thing I loved was how storytelling focused this session was from their family unit's porch swing to s'mores to a family water gun + hose fight and ending with bubbles. I definitely intend to do a separate blog of this session to share more than in depth, but here are a few of my stand alone favorite images.

On that aforementioned trip to Tyler for the Tipton session nosotros historic my birthday past staying at an airbnb and striking up the local java + eatery scene. These photos were taken when I was 32 weeks pregnant.

My last two shoots before maternity leave were with repeat JZP clients and their precious babies – only what I needed to make me allllllll the more excited to welcome our own baby so soon.

Jesse Cypress Zamora was born in August. We are and then thankful for him and he's pretty well snuggled as you can run into in the below photos with his big sister and brother. Also in September my oldest, Juniper, turned half-dozen-years-old.

I took 2 glorious months to give my full focus to welcoming our newest family fellow member and then in October I photographed a quick maternity session for a love friend, followed by Brittany + Akash'southward 2-twenty-four hour period McGovern Centennial Gardens in Houston, TX.

Next upward out was Melissa + Nik's New Orleans, LA nuptials — my first fourth dimension to New Orleans and my outset time to witness the fun that is a 2nd line band at a nuptials reception. Melissa + Nik are then downwards to earth and near their people. They had actually waited a yr longer than originally intended to take their wedding due to the pandemic. The hidden gift of the expect was that instead of their wedding existence the twenty-four hour period after daylight savings time, it was at present the day OF daylight savings time which meant we were gifted the nearly glorious 60 minutes of sunlight after their wedding ceremony that we were non anticipating having and boy, oh, boy did nosotros bask in it!

As promised, we've arrived at the 2d Poe session of 2021 starring their newest member, Luke.

And exercise you remember my cousin'south teeny babe at the get-go of this post? Information technology certain was fun to get to document these updated family unit photos of their sweet 1-year-quondam at the terminate of the year.

My last wedding ceremony of the year was Thao + Chris' and information technology was SUCH a fun one to close out 2021 with. The photos I chose to share in this post barely scratches the surface of Thao + Chris' 3 ceremonies in 1 day but I accept high hopes of blogging the whole thing on its own later this twelvemonth.

Nosotros celebrated Christmas with family and I ended the twelvemonth with two more past JZP couples who are expecting sweet babies along with one appointment session for a 2022 JZP bride + groom.

What a year, what a yr.

Cheers, Lord, for an eleventh year getting to tell so many sweet stories for such lovely humans. What a souvenir it is.

Thanks for coming back to cheque out the 2nd postal service from Cybil + Ambika's amazing hymeneals week. I really am trying my best non to inundate you lot with too many photos — I just accept as well many favorites from this wedding that it's hard to hold dorsum. If yous missed yesterday'south post go ahead and get-go there (just trust me on this) and so head on back hither to meet glimpses of their Christian wedding ceremony and reception.

role v: Christian anniversary

Something I and then value virtually multi-day weddings is how much more in depth I'm able to witness the relationships that matter to my brides and grooms. Past the time we got to Sat information technology was my third day documenting their families and friendships and of course their Great Dane, Moco. I love that. I love that I love that I love that. I love that I can tell you all of their parents and siblings names considering that's how much time I spent with all of them. Sign me upwards for all the multi-day weddings, delight and thank you. Right now as I prep this post I'k getting all the feels looking at the photos of Ambika'due south mom, Bala, helping her get prepare — particularly the portrait of them looking out the window together. Literally every time I coil to that photo my eyes tear upwardly. Juniper and I are soooooooo taking that photo on her wedding ceremony day now hahaha. Okay and then there is a photo of Cybil'southward mom and dad helping him get ready and Daizy looks up at the camera with that proud momma smile and information technology simply slayyyyyyys me (great capture on that one to my trusty little bro and second shooter, Jacob).  Okay, I'll stop giving play-by-play commentary now (but I might have to choice dorsum upward mid-post, I might not be able to contain myself). AND THEN THERE'S CYBIL'Due south FACE DURING THE Start Await OK OK OK OK I'M Washed I'M DONE.

Bated: I'grand going to tell y'all the following two facts and then you'll read them and become yeahyeahyeahcoolcoolcool then when you go to the pictures you're not going to believe me but information technology'south True. A friend of Ambika's made her gorgeous veil and another friend STRAIGHT UP MADE the stained glass ceremony backdrop. STAINED GLASS. I'm going to link to all the vendors once again at the bottom of this post too just I just had to tell y'all at the beginning because I'yard still trying to wrap my heed around how talented their friends are.

Okay, on to the photos at present, I say!

Beneath Cybil and Ambika are raving to their maid of honor, Melissa, about how beautiful the stained glass she made was for their ceremony is. GUYS, SHE MAAAAADE It!!!!

Cybil and Ambika wanted to exchange personalized vows in a more private, intimate setting and so they shared those after the ceremony, but the two of them.

part Vi: reception

Information technology was outfit change then so many heartfelt (and oftentimes hilarious) toasts followed past dancing galore. I am so especially tickled remembering Cybil'southward sister, Sharon's, toast and where she called out Cybil being their mom'south favorite child based off of what was cooked for each of them when they visited home. Daizy'south reaction below was all of us.

Ambika + Cybil, I'm genuinely and so sad to be writing the ending to this post because I honestly simply similar having reasons to reminisce on what a wonderful wedding y'all gave me the gift of beingness invited into to document. Thanks for this honor and trust. I definitely do non take it for granted. What a privilege to document these moments for y'all. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you lot.

Also — BECAUSE MY Footling BROTHERS BOTH TELL ME THAT NO ONE LOOKS AT BLOGS ANYMORE BECAUSE It'Due south Besides Hard TO LEAVE INSTAGRAM Obviously (“I want to roll my eyes correct now, but the doctor says that if I keep doing it, my ocular muscles might spasm and eject my eyeballs.” – Liz Lemon) — thanks to anyone who went to the not bad effort of really looking at this full post. I keep blogging in this Instagram world considering I truly believe this is how my work is best viewed. I care near the story. All of it. Not just the single images that will be received best on Instagram. And mayhap that makes me old. My brothers tell me it does. They ALSO told me I might equally well wait up websites in the yellowish pages when I effort to find things on Google instead of Instagram . . . well, one of them told me that and the other one didn't know what the yellow pages even were. Then.

2019. Man. A year in review blogpost serves lots of purposes. First, information technology gets a whole lot of images that would have never seen the light of day (beyond the client galleries/homes of form) onto my weblog. Since becoming a mom-of-two my work hours got cut down by almost iii quarters. I never knew how quickly I could edit until my main editing hours became those I used waking upwardly before the kids woke upwards, nap fourth dimension and and so the hours after they go to bed. I learned I could be HIGHLY EFFICIENT and honestly exercise just as thorough an editing chore earlier. If 2015 Jillian could meet 2019 Jillian edit she'd be REAL real impressed. But it does hateful my blogging time is nearly non-existent. HENCE my massive year in review post that, at the very least, shows you I'm even so working 🙂 The second purpose of a yr in review blogpost is for me to reflect on the previous twelvemonth'due south weddings and portrait sessions. GOODNESS GRACIOUS and so much thankfulness washes over me equally I look through these images and recall about these souls who've entrusted me with something and so precious as recording their memories on such special days. Thank you, thank you, Cheers to all my clients this by year. Thank y'all for your trust. Thank you for connecting with me and my work out of the hundredsssss and hundreds of other photographers out at that place. It means so much to me. If I wasn't afraid the length of my text would continue you from actually getting to the photo portion of this mail service I'd keep going. Just know, from the bottom of my centre, I am then appreciative of you.

Now on to the photos!

Kicked off 2019 with Connor and Allie's wedding at The Nest at Ruth Farms. This is one of the *two* total weddings I got upwardly on my blog last year (*Jillian hides in corner in shame*) so if you lot'd like to run into more images from this lovely day feel complimentary to click here for a whole bunch more.

This sugariness Jan babe has merely celebrated her Beginning birthday — I can inappreciably believe it looking at these photos from Sutton's newborn session.

I love me a family session in homes full of windows and dear like the Windle family unit.

Then came the engagement sessions — I loved each and every one of 'em.

My first fourth dimension to photograph the lovely Katy was at her bridal session and I knew nosotros were kindred sprits when she started to tear up during her session when I asked her to think about marrying her (now hubby) Ryan.

I only did one round of mini sessions in 2019 (after three rounds in 2018) — here were a few of my favorites from that stormy day of sessions at The Lumen Room.

Lily + Nick eloped at the Japanese Gardens and I so enjoyed their quiet little ceremony + wandering the garden together for a chip subsequently.

Katy + Ryan's got married at the Hall of State in April and a total blogpost from their wedding will be up soon because I have a really hard time narrowing downward photos of people as expressive as these ii. This starting time prototype is Katy's (now, but at the time very-soon-to-be) step-son's helping dry her tears after she read the messages + drawings they made for her to read on the morn of the wedding. Sweet sugariness sugariness sweet sweet. More to come up from this one.

Yous'll note from this teeny preview from Jessica + Sal's engagement session that I Actually like photographing these two in a close up hahaha. I just love them so much I couldn't step farther away from them!! (I did, however, put enough of farther back ones in their gallery haha all my favorites merely happened to be pretty extreme close ups hahaha).

Oh sweet Katie and Jacob. These two flew me out for their California hymeneals last May and nosotros kicked off photos with some portraits before their rehearsal dinner.

More than portrait sessions — summer engagements, an equestrian shoot (!) and a sunrise newborn session to welcome the third lilliputian Vanderpool child.

Aynav + Adam — goodness gracious these two (and their Houston hymeneals at The Crystal Ballroom) simply brand me smile.

I had fun at Melanie + Michael'southward engagement session playing with shadows and sunset reflections.

No smiles can compete with Lauren and Baton's smiles, I'chiliad thoroughly convinced. Also that last moving picture of he and his mom singing through their female parent-son trip the light fantastic toe at the reception is one of my favorites.

Cynthia + Bryan'due south June wedding was total of family, mariachi and peradventure my personal favorite detail, her handmade veil from Mexico.

This was my get-go wedding to photograph at Hidden Waters in Waxahachie and information technology was such a treat for my starting time wedding here to be Emily and Trent'southward.

You guys, information technology had been a hot minute since I'd had the joy of documenting a proposal only Casey and Samuel'due south at Klyde Warren Park had me feeling all kinds of feelings.

Ahhhhh Ameena + Sahir — it's most laughable for me to effort and narrow downwardly my favorites from their three-day wedding at The Dallas Renaissance so feel free to check out their full blogposts here, here and hither (hey, I told you it was three days!).

In August I had the joy to photograph the lovely Tori at The Lumen Room.

Marion + David were so expressive during their anniversary and I COULD NOT HANDLE the cuteness.

Fun fact: I went straight from Taylor + Ryan's Dallas engagement session (so. much. fun.) to the hospital to photograph a dear friend's baby existence born. At present THAT is a skilful day.

Brooke + Gordon on White Rock Lake, what dreams are fabricated of.

Y'all, this is coming to a blog near yous REAL before long. The last time I photographed portraits of these two (outside of their wedding mean solar day) nosotros hit up the Brooklyn Span at sunrise and these sunrise portraits for their second anniversary were (IMO) equally every bit epic. Texas was showin' OFF that forenoon.

Tori and Paul – two of the nicest humans effectually and now they're married.

I PHOTOGRAPHED THEIR WEDDING AND At present THEY HAVE A Baby NAMED LUCA AND I'G NOT CRYING, You lot'RE CRYING!!

Baby Henry, your aunt Jillian lovvvvvvvvvvves y'all.

It's just. I have no words. I loved this day. I love shooting at Cliff House. I love Erin + Kevin and all their people (and their pup).

Taylor + Micah were married at Knotting Hill Place and danced the night away nether a full moon.

Chelsea + Patrick are Pinnacle NOTCH. I desire to shout it again Height NOTCH!! Their hymeneals at The Fort Worth Zoo was and so beyond fun, like these two. I also always, e'er love working with Jen Rios Weddings and, fun fact, this was our 2nd hymeneals together at the zoo!

Isn't information technology so nice to encounter people you knew growing up then HAPPY? Does the soul good. It was a privilege to document this jr-and-high-school-friend of mine ally the dearest of her life in October.

Okay one of my favorite memories of this twenty-four hours was when the groom couldn't detect parking effectually their wedding venue (which was at The Dallas Farmer's market on a Saturday) so he went back to the AirBnB and rode i of those rented scooters to his wedding. Still cracks me upwards each time I see that photo — I just happened to be scouting for their first await when he pulled up with ii of his groomsmen on those scooters and I'm And so glad I was there to document.

Too many favorite parts of Taylor + Ryan's wedding ceremony day to even recount — the super touching toasts and Taylor'south dad barely holding it together during the begetter-daughter trip the light fantastic toe are at the height for me.

My last nuptials of 2019 and Human being did it end with a Blindside with Jessica + Sal's wedding. There is no way I could perchance condense the beauty of this 24-hour interval into a few images but here's me trying my best. Cloud Artistic Events and Moss Floral went to a higher place and beyond on this i.

Oh hey, we moved to South Dakota. Surprise. I'1000 nevertheless shooting DFW weddings (I experience the demand to compulsively say that each time I share the SD news with people). This was my very first shoot e'er in the snow. I loved getting to document a flake of the Carlin'south pregnancy.

Remember Casey and Samuel? From the proposal up there? Well I ended the year with their Dec date session and information technology was smashing every bit all get out.

If you made information technology to the end of this post *HIGH FIVE* Thank you for caring. For supporting. And for listening to my rambling. I'm ending this yr in review with a few of my favorite personal photos from the year featuring Y'all GUESSED IT my family. They mean the globe to me. And I call up that should affair to you lot, prospective clients. If y'all know I love and treasure my family and so y'all know that I understand the importance of documenting yours — your first twenty-four hours of your new family unit on your wedding day, your newborn days, your large-kid running wild days. They matter. And I care a whole big bunch, virtually my family AND yours.

SO MUCH LOVE TO EACH AND EVERY I OF Yous,

xoxo Jillian
